I had a number of assignments in my career with Caterpillar. One of my stops was Advertising G.O. at the world headquarters in Peoria. As an "Advertising Coordinator" I was responsible for the design and production of direct mail literature that was used as point of sale in the Caterpillar dealer stores and magazine ads which ran in trade magazines. Depending on the piece, my responsibilities included researching the market, coordinating the literature design, selecting the artwork, writing the copy and seeing the project through to the proofs and printing. The direct mail pieces were usually six page full color. (Although I will put up some pieces I did that had more pages.) Magazine ads were one or two pages. My first assignment. This was the direct mail piece for the 931B new model introduction. Looking back on it, I caught a lot of flak for the "B" graphics. Now I understand why! This piece is so 80s! It is a six pages. Closed 8 1/4 inches wide, 11 inches tall. Open, 24 1/2 inches wide, 11 inches tall. I have listed this item as new. Most of the available literature will have a dealer imprint on the back page. I have given you a scan to show there is no imprint. These are proofs from my personal collection. You won't find pieces like this anywhere, available from the person responsible for creating them! They have been stored protected with cardboard in an non smoking, climate controlled environment. They will be shipped to you with cardboard. Thank you for looking and send any questions my way.
