I am a big fan of Longaberger baskets, and when John Deere had Lee Wayne commission a series of quality baskets from the Carnation Basket Company, I was on board for that. This JOHN DEERE CREEL-TYPE BASKET was made in 1995. (I'm sure this basket was given a better name, but I don't know it. It looks like a creel to me.) It has the silver tag with 1995 and the John Deere logo. Basket has weaver's initials and 1996 on the bottom. This is one of the first baskets Deere has ever made. Basket measures 10" high x 12" wide at base x 11.5" wide at the top and 8" to 9" depth. Lid is 9" x 11.5". Lid is attached by leather hinges. It has a single swing handle. It has been displayed in a glass case, so it has minor fading. From a smoke-free, pet free environment.
