From a box of obscure vintage manuals found at a John Deere dealership, here is an operator’s manual for John Deere Side Delivery Rakes made by Dain Manufacturing. Includes 553, 554, 554P, 563, 564, 573, 574, 574P, 583, 584, 593, 594, 594B, 594M, 594P, and 594PM rakes. Setting-up and operating instructions, and an illustrated parts list. About 8” x 9”, 22 pages. Worn condition (covers have overall soil/rubbing, some moisture wrinkling, entire manual has a vertical crease, interior pretty clean). Part # DIR 57 - Dain - 2-47 (February 1947). This is one of the last manuals to mention the Dain Manufacturing Co. which Deere had purchased in 1911.
