This unique and seldom seen John Deere collectible has been tucked away in it's original package since it was NEW in 1987. I opened it up and took it out of the box in order to take some pictures. This is pretty cool. This would make a great addition to your John Deere toy collection, museum, train set, etc. From the original sales brochure... "The Blacksmith Shop scene brings into focus the beginnings of John Deere's company. It is an authentic replica based on the archaeological findings at Grand Detour, Illinios, the site of John Deere's development of the self-scouring steel plow. All John Deere dealers can be proud to offer this replica now because John Deere will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 1987. This anniversary reflects a company that has endured, developed, and progressively changed over the past 150 years to become a major producer of farm equipment, industrial equipment, and consumer products worldwide. You may consider offering it as a handout at Farming Frontiers 1987, dealer open houses, or other special events. Included in this setting is a figure of John Deere at his anvil, an original plow, a rustic bench of the 1837 period, and a wagon that fits neatly under the shop lean-to.
